How do I know if I have MacKeeper?

Hi. I've just recently bought a Mac at the beginning of the month and I'm new to the community. Sorry if this question has been answered before; I tried looking for it but didn't see anything addressing my question specifically (only questions about how to uninstall it or if I should install it).

But, about forty minutes ago, I went onto a site and one ad (from the site itself most likely) popped up in a new tab with the website "http://mackeeperapp.mackeeper.com/landings/123/?affid=mzb_208.11538717.142506145 5.6.mzb&utm_source=cnvrst&utm_medium=cpm&utm_campaign=mk_cnvrst_us_sp105_123_25f eb&utm_term=&utm_content=&userDefiner=mzb_2321&trt=29_3324511&alert=1". I clicked out of it immediately because I had heard about it from someone and knew it was malware. So far, my computer seems fine since I don't constantly get pop-ups or ads, but I was wondering if there was a way to know if I have it? Can MacKeeper install itself or infect my browser simply through that one ad or do I actually have to download and install it?

Also, I'm using Google Chrome if that has any relevance (sorry that I put it under the Safari category; I wasn't sure where else to put it).
