iMovie and Photos app both not uploading video to YouTube

I just made a video on iMovie and I've tried many times, but can't upload it to YouTube. I then saved the video to the Photos app on my iPad and tried to upload it there, but it didn't work there either. I am guessing the problem is with the YouTube app, but I am not sure. everything is recently updated on my iPad. I did notice that on the YouTube app the icon with the three horizontal lines is not avilable for me to select and there is no way I can upload my video using the YouTube app. What should I do to fix this problem??
