Numbers file will not open.

Question

Numbers file will not open.

Numbers file created in older version but updated on iMac will not open on MacBook-no reason given.

MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), Numbers 3.5.2

I have the exact same situation. I used Numbers 3.5.2 to create a document. It is on my desktop and when I click to open it it tells me that it can't be opened because it is too old. Odd that the very program I used to create it can not open it's own document.... What??

most likely you are accidentally using Numbers '09 to try to open the file. When you install the latest Numbers, Numbers '09 is still installed and you can still run it. Check which version of Number is open when you see this message

No ............ only Numbers 3.5.2 is on the computer. Strangely enough, I was able to open a version of the file that is 1 year older!
