ipod 5th gen not working

My iPod touch will not turn on and when I try to charge it and nothing happens I am running ios 8

if anyone can help thanks in advance. :3

Try resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power Buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). If you see the Apple, then the Slide to Unlock screen will display shortly.

Next try the remaining items of:

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
