I can't empty trash, I get a error message

I'm unable to empty trash. I get and error msg "The operation can't be completed because one or more required items can't be found. Error code -35). Any ideas on solving this.

If you know the file that is causing the problem then select the file in Finder

otherwise, open Trash and select all

hold alt + command

press delete

This worked for me!
