can't close iPhoto.

I have a new iMac and imported some photos to iCloud. Anyhow, now it won't let me close out of iPhoto and the message I get says to wait for importing to complete. Its been several days now and there is no importing taking place. Any ideas on how to stop whatever its doing and close out of iPhoto? I can't find a stop import command.

Use the Force Quit feature. If you are new to Mac's then click the Apple Symbol in the upper left of the display and select Force Quit and select iPhoto.
