Apple TV apps stay on screen during airplay

When using airplay, the apps on the apple tv (version 2) stay on the screen. Video plays in the background. Hit settings on remote and video still showing in background while pic of apple tv and menu are showing. Very weird and frustrating since I can't use airplay now. Had trouble from Mac and iPhone.

A second issue that also just started is while using iTunes Radio app is the songs will just start fast forwarding as if pressing forward button. It will keep forward or a little while then stop and play one. Sometimes it goes for a couple minutes, sometime a few seconds.

You are certainly having some unusual issues with your Apple TV, with its applications staying on screen while you use AirPlay, as well as your audio issue. I would suggest that you begin by restarting the Apple TV. Use the steps in this article -

Restart your Apple TV by selecting Settings > General > Restart.
