I have an old 23 inch acrylic Cinema display LED version and just now received my new Mac Pro. I want to keep my original monitor and was wondering if using the two different adapters, Dr Bott DVIator / Apple DVI to ADC and the DVI to HDMI, be recognized by my new Mac Pro?

That shold wokr fine.
My opinion is if you have to purchase the DVlator I myself would just purchase a new monitor. You can get decent one at about the price of the DVIator.
Conventional wisdom is that you cannot "stack" adapters.
However, in this case, the DVI to ADC adapter turns the lucite Cinema display into a virtual DVI display with a cable that looks like a snake that just had lunch. One more adapter can be used without issue.
So which does the community prefer between Dr Bott DVIator and the Apple DVI to ADC? I have the Apple but it is not working, as it is shutting the monitor down without even starting it (soft shut-down). Is this a bad adapter or the result of "stacking" adapters? I have read that it is more common to a bad adapter result.

Does the monitor still work when connected to an ADC card. Maybe the monitor is bad.
Does the Apple adopter work when connected to a different computer? A different monitor?
As I said before I would just get a monitor with a DVI or HDMI or displayport/mini displayport input.
The monitor works just fine on my G4 tower I just now upgraded to the Mac Pro I want to keep the same monitor as it was a gift from my mother and I am totally in love with the aesthetics of it.
Then it would appear to the Apple adopter is the problem.
Just making sure it's not an operating system issue that's causing my monitor to not be recognized.
It was verified as a faulty adapter. I purchased another one and it works like a charm.
Will my 23" cinema with Dr Bott DVIator / Apple DVI to ADC and the DVI to HDMI work on my new Mac Pro?
