Tap Settings, then General.

Turn on “Restrictions”, “Enable Restrictions" and Enter Restrictions Passcode.

Tap “Websites”. Select “Limit Adult Content” under “Limit Adult Content”.

Tap ”Done".

Under “Never Allow” section tap on “Add Website”.

Add the address of the website to be blocked.

Repeat this for other websites, standard as well as mobile versions.

Thanks! This worked for the Ipad, but i think the Ipod must be an older model as i can only go as far as entering the restrictions code, it does not have a "websites" tab to tap. i can put age restrictions on for viewing movies etc but still allows the adult content on safari. I have had to resort to totally restricting safari, which is a bit like " overkill". It seems to be all or nothing, but thanks for your input.
