why is it removing songs I haven't downloaded from iTunes?

So I just got a new iPod and as I'm adding songs manually it keeps removing the ones that I have gotten from the music store beatport and have downloaded by youtube to mp3. Now I usually get most of my music from iTunes but the iTunes store doesn't always have certain songs.
