Can overheating cause wifi disruption?

Hi,

I keep losing wifi connection on my wifi at home and I have an orange dot next to the airport log. It shows no IP address etc. however all other devices using this wifi connection at home are ok. I turned off my MBP overnight and today the connection is fine, however it did not connect automatically. Could overheating be the cause and if so how can this be overcome?
