how to remove red line from ipod

I have an Ipod 7th Generation which was working fine a couple of months ago and hasn't been used / outside my draw.

I came to switch it on today (28/02/2015) and noticed a Vertical Red line going all the way down.

Is this a known issue, as I have seen a few unanswered questions about this (although some said it can happen when it has been dropped, but as mine hasn't been used between the red line not appearing and the red line appearing this would not be the case.

I have tried a full factory restore via ITunes and the red line still appears.
