Syncing is broken

Every time I sync my phone to my Mac I have to hold my breath. This latest time I didn't hold it enough because about 1500 songs just randomly didn't sync. Space is not an issue. Also about 95% of the artwork just didn't sync. I've restore, reset, closed, open, etc...and nothing. This should just work and it doesn't.
