Hi, I've got the physical copy of 1989 and want to put it onto my 5th generation ipod but I can't seem to be able to. Is this possible?

In what format? If a commercial DVD then it is copy protected. and it is illegal to circumvent the copy protections.
If it is a pirated copy it is illegal to use.
It's the real thing, not pirated. I put it in my computer and all of the songs are saved in my documents and I've managed to put it on my other devices (not apple products) but I can't find a way to put them on my ipod, I don't want to have to buy the whole album again!
Import them into your iTunes library and then sync.
