My iPhone keeps asking me for the pasword of an iCloud I no longer use.

The "put in your password" keeps popping up on the screen and I apparently do not know the password because it is not accepting it.

You aren't clear about what you are doing when this happens. This might be an answer: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support

But if you see it when updating an app that means that the app was purchased or downloaded using a different Apple account (not just a different Apple ID).
