2008 macbook pro 17, i power up, after 45 sec touch and keys freezes. everything locked

My mouse and keyboard locks once it boot up you have 40 sec the move the mouse after that it locks up. both keyboard and touch

Try safe mode. Or else go to single user.http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203176 Before you do this try a pram reset. Command/Option/P/R keys at startup for three chimes.
