Why can't I access the Mac App Store anymore?
I want to upgrade my Mac Pro but I can no longer access the Mac App Store and don't know why.

Without knowing what happens when you try:
I can access the iTunes Store. I can't access the Mac App Store so I can upgrade my computer. I get the following message, "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (macappstore) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context."
To access the Mac App Store you click on/open the Mac App Store icon which is usually in the Dock. It can't be accessed via a browser.
The App Store icon has and circle on top of it with a diagonal line through it and blanked out so I can't use it. I don't have any idea when that occurred or why.
Sounds like you are clicking on the icon in the Dock. Go to the Applications folder and click on the App store their.
It was no longer in my dock. This is how it looks in the Applications folder. When I click on it, it says "You can't open the application App Store because it may be damaged or incomplete."
Install the 10.6.8 combo update
Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
If yo are going to update the OSX then you may not have to install this supplemental update
Thank you so very much. I can get to the App Store now. Hope I can update the OSX without issue.
Remember that Rosetta is not supported beyond 10.6.8. This means that if you use any PowerPC Apps, they will refuse to work.
My top six are:
Microsoft Office, including Word, 2004 or older
Photoshop CS2 or older
Apple Works 6
FileMaker Pro 6
Eudora 6
Quicken 2007 (unless you purchase and install the "Loin Compatible" update)
