why can't I answer a group text
Whenever I receive a group message it does not give me the option to respond. The keyboard doesn't pop up.
iPhone 5s, iOS 8.1.3

Yes and it works for one text then stops again
And is the issue only present for that one conversation thread, or is it every message thread?
Just one and they all have iPhones

I would try swiping and deleting the conversation thread entirely.
At that point, have one of your friends send another group message, which should register the conversation a-new on your device.
I suspect it will work great after that!
