Will this work in the optical bay of a 2011 MacBook Pro i7?

If the 2011 model (?) is an Early 2011 version, the optical drive data rate may
be as slow as 3GBPS. Some shipped with 3 or 6GBps. The Late 2011 version
shipped with 6GBPS optical drive data rate connection.
So it may, or may not work, depending on the actual computer specs.
Some users of the drive-doubler idea chose an SSD, but found unless
it was correctly installed by a specific process, there were failures.
