iphoto crashing when editing photobook

Hi,

When I try to open a page in a Photobook (I have several Photobooks, and only one is the problem) - Iphoto crashes down. I try to copy the book and create a new book based on the same files. Same problem on these new books.

iPhoto is crashing, when drawing a path.

Just a hunch, but does your problematic iPhoto book have a map, and is adding the map and adding a route on the map the last thing you did with your book project?

Then you are a probably a victim of a bug. And I have no hope to rescue your book project. See this thread:

iPhoto crashing one specific Book Project

If your case is similar, your only option would be to start over and recreate your book, but use a different map layout.

The killer is the last map theme the map in the second row of map layouts.

When I try to open a page in a Photobook (I have several Photobooks, and only one is the problem)

It is just one particular page in that book or any of the pages in that book? It sounds like that particular book entry in the library's database is damaged.

I try to copy the book and create a new book based on the same files.

Did you select the book and duplicate it and then tried to edit the duplicate? Or start a new book from scratch and imported the same photos into it?

Try again with the same book and this time post just the first 50 lines of the crash report.

I have no map in this book. My other book have a map and is ok 🙂.

I duplicated it and tried to edit the duplicate (and of course duplicated several times trying to make it ok) .... It crashes even opening a page without pictures. Sometimes the problem seem to occur after changing the subject (because i didn'tremember the subject I chose in the first book).

I realise I may have to do it all over again.

I tried to do it all over again, imported the pictures in a new book. I did some editing and then it crashed opening a page. Same report as posted above.

Could the problem be in the files? Some of the pictures are scanned, but are jpeg.

Reading this reports are like reading Chinese to me... (nothing bad said about the Chinese)

The Reports are really hard to read, if you are not a programmer.

The problem is, that your report does not look like a crash report. If it were a crash, we should be able to see an error message. Your first report was a genuine crash - we could see, that iPhoto was trying to add some text to a canvas and that operation did not succeed "com.apple.iLifePageLayout 0x0000000101a21435 -[KHTextFrameRenderer _fillFrameWithString:exact:fillStyle:] "

Below is an example, what I am looking for - a full header, like in your first report.

Your last reports do not look a crash event at all. What exactly happens, when you try to edit your book? Do you see this panel?

User uploaded file

Or is iPhoto just hanging and you force quit it? Something else must be going on, but the recent reports are very different from your first.

Yesterday I saw the panel included the crash report popping up. Now iPhoto is just closing and no report, but in the console I find this log file history:
