I bought a macbook ae1811 and i've had it for two days. When I go to open photobooth or try to use any app that requires the camera it says there is no camera connected. I have restarted it, I updated it to Yosemite I even opened Terminal and copy pasted "sudo killall VDCAssistant" as many have requested and still it says there is no camera connected. What do I do?

i ended up reseting the smc yesterday and nothing happened. at all. i think this is a common problem i guess but the solution that others use with copy pasting ""sudo killall VDCAssistant" into terminal didn't work for me. and im not sure why.
Have you tried the other things in the article I linked to? Another account? Checking System Profiler? You may have a macbook with a hardware problem and might want to take it in for service.
i could not find a system pofiler but i did find a system information and the image is what i saw in the usb header

Have you considered the possibility that it doesn't work? It has been discontinued for 3 1/2 years now, after all... There's a possibility that it failed at some point or that someone opened the laptop up to repair something and either broke something or didn't reconnect things properly.
I would approach the seller about the defect and try to get either a refund or an exchange.
