Can I play a DVD through the Apple TV to the monitor?

I am trying to play a DVD on monitors through the apple TV. I get audio but no video. What settings do I need?

DVDs are blocked from mirroring

mirror removed the drm encryption so it's not legal for apple to allow it to work on mirror it would be against the dvd encryption laws
