I have sold my phone and want to reset it, but when I go into settings>general>reset>erase all content and setting and give my passcode, it doesn't use the same code that I get into my phone with. I'm at four attempts right now and don't want to lock it up. Can anyone give me a solution? I'm backed up on icloud already.

Do you have Find My iPhone enabled? If so, you can go to www.icloud.com, and attempt to "locate" your phone.
In that screen, you can then choose the option to remotely erase the device. This will ensure the data is properly erased before you sell it.

Do you have a Restrictions passcode set? If so try that.
