Iphone 6 won't update over Wifi or Itunes "Network Timeout"

Just upgraded to the Iphone 6 from the 4 this week....Not having any issues at all, except updating the IOS from 8.1.1 to 8.1.3. I try to update over WiFi like normal and I get just an error about it not being able to update and have to choose try again or cancel. I sync it to Itunes and it prompts for the update, but I get an error saying the network connection timed out. I have reset the internet connection here (power cycled modem and router), and also reset the network settings on the phone. Once I did that, the phone was able to catch over Wifi that there is an update available,and attempts to begin. The icon just spins and says "calculating remaining time", and at the bottom "update requested" is grayed out. Phone has been like this for a couple hours...just stuck..no update downloaded. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know if any of this will work or not as a search hasn't turned up any definitive answers. Perhaps that's why no one has responded.

A few things I'd try are reseting the phone; press and hold both the home and sleep buttons for 10 seconds or so until the Apple logo appears. You won't lose any data.

If you have a firewall turned on on your computer disable it and likewise if you are using an anti-virus program disable it as well.

Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes.

Tip: If none of the above helps and no one else contributes ask your question again in a new post. If no one replies don't bump your post by asking "anyone?". Unanswered posts will eventually get noticed after a day or so by the Community Specialists.

Thanks....I have done all you have suggested. I reset the phone by deleting everything on it too and the update screen on the phone is blank and saying "Checking for Software update" and thats it. Trying to update through Itunes still gives me the network timeout error. :/

Try a different internet connection. That error usually refers to the internet connection having some sort of interruption in connection.
