Manually Manage Music Broken

This problem has popped up on my NEW iPhone 6 Plus and my NEW iPad Air 2, but my wife's new iPhone 6 works flawlessly. I have a lot of music on cd's that I have imported into iTunes through the years. When I get a new IOS device I always choose to manually manage my music and drag and drop what I want in. When I attempt this on my 6 Plus or Air 2 nothing happens besides the sync icon appearing in my taskbar on the Air of Plus for a split second. Again, it worked flawlessly on my wife's 6. All devices are new. None have been plugged into another computer. All the setting are correct, I've checked. At a loss here.
