My iPod 5 has been disabled and I am wondering if I can restore it without losing everything.

If your iPod is in recovery mode as it sounds from what you are describing then the data is already gone so you might as well connect it to your computer and restore it from iTunes.

Could I log into any computer to do this? If i log into my itunes and try and sync my music on there will it work?
Not if it is in recovery mode until after it is restored.
I dont think that its in recovery mode, it says ''iPod is disabled connect to iTunes'' and its still on the lock screen. Unless that is recovery mode.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
