I have had a shared account with my family for about 5 years, but now I am planning to make a new account just for myself. How can I move all my music, apps, books, movies, etc to my new account? Will I lose any items? How do I authorize my iphone to the new account?

Items purchased with one account remain permanently linked to that account and cannot be transferred to another account. You will have to use purchases from two accounts which may be troublesome in some situations. Make sure you maintain backups on local drives so you minimize the need to re-download purchases.
