Solution for eye strain with ipad air 2

I love my ipad air 2 but it is causing eye strain and headaches. Yes, really. I stopped using it for several days and my eyes stopped hurt. Tried again - pain back. I'm looking at the blue light reducing screen protectors but cannot find reviews on the best. Will that do it? Other suggestions?

iPad Air, iOS 8.1.3, Air 2

some people use screen glasses when using computers for long periods of time so suppose such glasses would work for tablets too (think it's a bit like reading glasses)

You can reduce the screen brightness to a more tolerable level.

To compensate for the lower screen brightness, you can increase the type font size, in Accessibility settings, you can change type to bolder type, you can play with reducing with white point, increase screen contrast and/or darken colors.

I have set many of these settings and they help with eye strain and headaches.

I do not think it is just the fault of the blue light from the screen.
