Installed new Airport Extreme ac. On windowsill. Want to broadcast wifi out window. Wires facing inside? or is antenna omnidirectional. Would like to put plugs facing window without degrading signal.

Installed new Extreme ac, want wifi signal broadcasting out window, so put on desk under window. Make any difference which way it faces? Would like to put plugs and wires facing window instead of facing inside room, but I do not know if antenna is totally ominidirectional.

If you want the signal to go out the window, then you need to move the AirPort Extreme up so that it has a clear look out the window.

WiFi signals travel in a straight line from the router to the wireless device. If the AirPort Extreme is lower than the window, then that will likely force the signal to go through the outer wall of the house toward the wireless device that you want to reach.

Think line-of-sight between the wireless router and the wireless device for best signal strength and performance.

It does not matter which way that you orient the AirPort Extreme, but do not lay it on its side. It needs to look like a "tower".
