My ipad 3will not load my email from aol or gmail. The screen is white, turns black and then blinks to the home page.

Both of those work on mine (no help to you).

I would probably delete them and then add them back in.

I have a similar issue, and the apple support page you referred to has also not helped. I've deleted my mail account twice, restarted my ipad (3e gen), added the account back in and checked that the smtp and imap settings are correct.

I can send e-mail with the account, but it shows no mail, and receives no mail. It sees the structure of my gmail account, but gives no content (e-mail).
