My ipod is not recognised when I plug it into the computer with the USB cable.

I have plugged my ipod into a different computer to charge however the screen has gone blank. There is an error message when I try plugging in my ipod about the device not being recognised.

iPod nano, Windows 7

Hi Lizzieneathey,

If I understand your question, you plugged your iPod into a different computer than the one that you use to sync with and it is not being recognized, is that correct?

My next question would be, if you are only wanting to charge the iPod, why wouldn't you just plug it into the electrical outlet on the wall?

If you do wish to access the iTunes library on the second computer, here are some troubleshooting steps for this issue:

If I'm not understanding the question, please reply with more information and I'll do what I can to help.

Have a great day!
