Calendar on 5C stopped working again

Calendar on 5C stopped working again. Apple led me through removing and reinstalling the calendar app last time. Tech Support says to contact the vendor if it occurs again. Apple won't help without a fee of $30 WHICH IS GOOD FOR 30 DAYS!! This sounds like a good business plan for apple but not for Apple product Users. I'd like to be able to fix the problem that is causing this to occur. Has anyone figured this out? I tried chatting with Tech Support but they dropped me mid-chat .

iPhone 5c, iOS 7.1.2
