How do you export 1080p in imovie?

I am trying to export a movie on imovie 10.0.6, and I can't export in 1080p. I checked my first clip and it is 1080p.

Mac mini (Late 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), 4gb RAM, dual core i5

Hey iMovie_Maker,

When you finalize a project in iMovie it checks the media you use to see if it will all support the export sizes. If it does not, then that size will not be rendered. See this article for reference -

It is the first clip in time added to a new (blank) project timeline which determines the resolution of the project. If this is a still I think you may only get 720p as the resolution set.

I suggest you try the following:

- Create a new project

- Put a known 1080p clip in it (doesn't matter what of - it can be removed)

- Check in project info that the resolution is set to 1080p

- Select all from your old project

- Paste into the new project

I think you will find the new project is still set to 1080p. You can now delete that first clip.
