how do I access the password file?
I've forgotten how to access my file of passwords. Please help!
iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), Error code appears and I'm clueless

Someone outside the community supplied the easiest solution, one I've used (and forgotten), and the solution I'd recommend: Safari>Preferences>Passwords. That file supplies the complete list of my passwords.
You didn't mention it was only Safari Passwords you wished to access. Keychain retains all passwords for your Mac.
