iphone transfer

hey , my iphone 5c has recently broke fully , and i dont know my icloud password, if i get a new phone ( iphone 6 ) can i simply type my apple id , and passwiord in ? or would it have to be icloud , ( my id email is the same as icloud ) i dont want to loose my dtials my y iphone 5 is broke beyond repair , how would i transfe everything onto a new phone ? dont know my icloud bt i know my id
