New iPhone 6 can't discover bluetooth speakers

So, within the past 3 months, I've gotten my new iPhone and two new different models of Bluetooth speakers and it's the same problem with each. My computers and iPod Touch's can discover the two new devices no problem. My phone? Not so much. The little "device" icon just spins around and around and around.....

I do get a little message saying "Now discoverable as "Brian's iPhone" but I am pretty sure that is the opposite of what I want. Any ideas?
