Attempted to download IOS 8. Appeared to be almost done. Ipad frozen. Cannot shutdown or reset. Any suggestions?

If your iPad is unresponsive and will not even reset, then please put it into recovery mode and restore using iTunes.

I had this problem with an iPod once

Was on telephone for 3 hours to Apple trying to sort it out

Problem was that I was connected to iTunes via a USB 1.0 on my PC and the resetting download just kept stopping

Conected to a USB 2.0 port and everything sailed through

PS Yes my PC was old so you probably wont have this problem
