announce who sent text message

I have an iPhone 6 Plus 64 GB. Running iOS 8.1.3 (latest version at time of post).

Is there any way for me to change my incoming ringtone or text from "default" to "announce the incoming callers name". Instead of an actual ring EX: "Incoming call from "(contact name)"

I have looked through 3rd party apps and other forums.

This technology is archaic, so I am sure there must be some way that it can be done - there are loads of apps for andriod.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If there are no apps allowing that for the iPhone, Apple does not support that.

The only way to do something like that for incoming calls would be creating "spoken" ringtones for every contact and assigning the ringtone to that contact.

@Ingo2711 - spoken ringtones for each contact - who has time for doing that?

There are many people asking questions/looking for an app like this - don't get me started on that nonsense of the accessibility option for Siri speaking each and every think done.

Time for some dev team to make a billion dollars

I'm sure that there would be apps for that if Apple would allow such a thing.

And, do you really want your phone shouting out names in public for all to hear who's calling you?
