Ipod 5G connects to Wi-Fi but I have no internet? Please help!

I just got my new Ipod 5th Gen in January. I would get internet with no problem and it worked for about a week. But suddenly, I kept getting messages that I wasn't connected to the internet even thought I clearly had all three bars on my Wi-Fi.


I looked up solutions but nothing has worked! I've restarted/reset my router multiple times, reset my network settings multiple times, and I've restored my Ipod as a new device. Nothing works! My IP address is valid, with the numbers starting with 192. But I can't get internet for the life of me and it is driving me insane. I have the latest update and everything.


My mom and my brother both have Iphones and they connect just fine to the Wi-Fi. 3 laptops and a Windows phone also connect with no problem. It's just my Ipod that does not work. What's going on? Is it maybe just the Ipod itself?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.

Does the iOS device see the network?

Any error messages?

Do other devices now connect?

Did the iOS device connect before?

Try the following to rule out a software problem:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Power off and then back on your router

.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network

- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
