So it is obvious that the issue is with Google and not any phone. Ask Google.

the wifi was on
so did the data plan
it happen as both of these connection were available and switch on
And are you able to got to another website other than Google?

i am on Verizon. A personal android and iPhone and a work android on Verizon. Work phone does not have this issue. I just added the android to my personal line yesterday. Wondering what may hav happened. I have all network capability for all other apps.
Try deleting the Google app and re-adding it. I have both an Android and an iPhone on Verizon. No issues.
I did reinstalling the app but it wont work

I am having the same issue. If I use a different Google account on the same device in Google Now, it will work fine. It appears to be an issue with my specific Google account, or some malfunction in the app related to some issue with my account and not with the device or with the app generally.
I spoke to Google about this and unfortunately they said they would not officially support Google Now for Google Apps users. Not sure what else can be done on the user end until the specific issue is identified and remedied (likely by Google).
