How to change text alignment for books in Aperture 3.6?

This used to be so easy but I am struggling to change text alignment (justified, centred, etc.) in Text Boxes when constructing a book under Aperture 3.6. In common with all other software, the controls used to be available in the Fonts box but they have disappeared.
