Im trying to enter a trigonometric formula which requires sin^2(theta). How do I square sin?

Hi fickler,

Type = in a spare table cell to bring up the Function Browser on the right of the Numbers window.

Type sin in the search box to see the syntax for the sine function.

The SIN function returns the sine of an angle that is expressed in radians.

SIN(radian-angle)

  • radian-angle: A number value representing an angle, expressed in radians. Although radian-angle can be any number, it would normally be in the range –π to π (–pi to +pi).

I am thinking that your formula

sin^2(theta)

could be

=sin(your value in radians)^2

But I could be wrong 😉. More information will lead to a solution.

Ian.
