I deleted manually 4000 pictures on my ipod touch 5 but it is still saying that 17.5 GB are used by my pictures...
could someone explain me how I could change this? I tried to reset my ipod or synchronise it again but it changed nothing...

From where did y delete the photos?
If you only deleted them from albums you created on the iPod then that saves very very little since there is only one copy of the photos and created albums only have a pointer to the original photos.
Next:
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- last, restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
I deleted them from the main photo album...
But i have already tried to restore my ipod... but it did not change something
And if i restore to a older backup, will I loose all my apps or my newer pictures?
If you restore from older backup the iPod will be like it was when the older backup was made, included apps and photos
