Print email before sending

Folks,

When printing an email using mail.app on OSX 10.9.5 mail 7.3. It seems to be not possible to print the text of long paragraphs. They spill out on the right hand side in one long line so that only the first line or part of the first line comes out on the paper. Does anybody know how to get the text other than modifying the email into a lot of short lines? I presume this is a bug.
