Does iTunes no longer display a $0.00 balance?

Does iTunes no longer display a $0.00 balance?

I wanted to check my iTunes balance, I am fairly certain I have a couple bucks left, but I cannot get iTunes to show me a balance of any kind. I have checked iTunes on my computer (Version 12.0.1.26 Windows 7), my iPhones (4 and 4S) and my iPad 2.

I feel certain that iTunes used to always show a balance at the bottom of the page even if it was $0.00. Am I losing my mind or has Apple changed how this works?

iPhone 4S, iOS 8.1.1, White 32 GB

My recollection is that it doesn't show a nil balance, but of course at this moment in time I have one so I can't check. 😕

Sign out and sign in again, or go to Store > View Account to check.

I decided to call Apple and find out if they have stopped showing a $0 balance on iTunes and this is in fact true. If you have a balance it will show at the bottom of the App Store on your device or at the top next to your name in the iTunes computer program.
