deleted duplicate Safari bookmarks reappear

hi! I deleted a ton of duplicate bookmark folders from Safari on my MacBook Pro. The next time I rebooted, they were all there again. How can I permanently delete them? I sync on iPhone6 Plus and iPad2. Many thanks ... it's annoying enough that there ARE duplicates - not sure why that happened either ... 😕

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Hi Linc,

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply! I'm looking at the instructions now and will troubleshoot when I get a break today.

On quick glance, I am optimistic! And hoping that this will also solve another pesky problem - my extensions disappear when I reboot or there's an update.

I really want to love Safari as much as I loved Chrome but so far ... it's been a challenge.

Will get back to you later.

thanks again! 🙂
