Genuine Apple Lightning to USB Cable not working with iPhone 5s

So I lost my old lightning cable and went to get a new one from Best Buy, they had the authentic Apple ones inside a box with an Apple logo (see pictures). When I tried it on my phone I got a message that said, Accessory not supported, I'm also using my original wall charger that came with my phone.

Out of pure desperation and since my phone was getting low under 10%. I got a Belkin charger and it worked. I went in to Best Buy to exchange the Apple cable, and tell them what was going on, and they tried using their Apple cables that they use for their iPhones and those didn't work either! I said I'll just keep it to bring it to the Apple store to show them that my phone isn't taking their cables other than Belkin for some insane reason. I also bought another cable from Walgreens and that worked too, I'm baffled that it's not taking Apple cables.

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.1.2

The most common cause of this problem with Apple cables is dirt in the Lightning connector on the phone. Try cleaning it with an air blast can, a wood or plastic toothpick, or both.

Hi , first of all sorry for my english, but I have the same problem. I bought an original cable with apple logo and all the stuff printed on the box, but when I tried on my phone it doesn't work. Then I plugged it to another iOS device and it works!, maybe someone is thinking: oh is dirt in the Lightning connector on the iphone, just like Lawrence Finch said. But that was the first thing I checked and it is ok, no dirt, no humidity no nothing.

The most bizarre of all is that a friend give me his original lightning cable (the one who came with his iPhone) and it works! I tried with other original cable from an iPad for example and it works too.

So I went to the Apple Genius Bar where I bought the cable and they changed it for a new one, and surprise... it doesn't work. So what I can do? Looks like I'm not able to use other lightning cable who has not came with the original iDevice. I suspect is something with the iOS, but I have resetted, and updated to iOS 8.2 and nothing.

Does anyone has an idea what could be the reason for this annoying problem? 😕

When you go back to the Apple Store take your phone and show them how it does not work. There could be something wrong with the charging port on your phone. If you can, bring one of the cables that does work so they can see the difference.

they also recommend reset on the phone settings for those types of issues, i had to do that a few times to get one or two of my apple chargers to work.
