iPad defaults to Yahoo instead of iCloud for mail

My iPad suddenly decided to default to my Yahoo mail account instead of iCloud. How do I get it to stop doing that and if I remove Yahoo mail altogether from download, will it affect my Yahoo account on my desktop?
