My MacbookPro turned white out of a sudden and a flashing file-looking symbol popped up with a question mark on it. Now all that's on my screen is that annoying symbol and i can't get my laptop to work. Please help! I'm in Year 12 and i've lost all my folio work and i'm lost. Help!

Restart holding down the option key and see if your HardDrive is recognised. If not, then there is a very good chance it has died and may need to be replaced. You can reinstall your data from your backup afterwards.

After the flashing symbol, it came up with the option to connect to wifi. So i typed in the wifi password and a world symbol came up as it was meant to be loading but stopped and said contact support from apple store. I don't know what to do now.
Please help!
