Can I recycle my Macbook Pro at an Apple Retail Store?

I was wondering if I could take my Macbook to an Apple Retail Store and recycle it, after that get the gift card and purchase a new Macbook... I live outside the U.S. so it's a bit complicated to ship it as they say in their website. I have previously gotten gift cards for my iPhone and iPad but I don't know if they do this with Macbooks IN-STORE. Thank you
